Crochet Shell Variation 4 - Afghan or Scarf

This pattern stitch will make a great afghan or a scarf.

Size Estimate for a K/6.6mm crochet hook:
Baby Afghan - Chain 90 for 27.5 inches or 69.9CM
Full Size Afghan - Chain 225 for 68.5 inches or 174CM
Scarf - I am recommending a chain of 28, same as the video and a smaller size G or H crochet hook.
Skill Level: Beginner familiar with crochet basics to Intermediate

Materials
Crochet Hook Size K was used in the video
4 ply yarn

AbbreviationsCM = Centimeters
SK - Skip
CH's - Chains
SC - Single Crochet
DC - Double Crochet
Shell - 5 Double Crochet -For this project, the 5 double crochet worked together will be called a shell.

Multiple: 6 chains ( Chains will be added or taken away in increments of 6 to adjust the size)

Row 1: Work 2 DC in the 2nd CH from the hook, SK 2 CH's, SC in the next, *SK 2 CH's, work 5 DC in the next CH, SK 2 CH's, SC in the next. Repeat from * for the width. For the edge, SK 2 CH's and work 3 DC in the last CH.

Row 2: CH 3, turn, work 2 DC in in the same stitch as the beginning CH. This is the edge 1/2 shell. *Work 5 DC in the (center)3rd stitch of the next Shell. Continue across from * for the remainder of the row. Upon completion of the row, work 3 DC in the last double crochet, edge shell to form a straight edge on each side.

Row 3: CH 3, turn, work 2 DC in in the same stitch as the beginning CH. This is the edge 1/2 shell. SC between the shells. *Work 5 DC in the (center)3rd stitch of the next Shell. SC between the shells. Continue across from * for the remainder of the row. Upon completion of the row, work 3 DC in the last double crochet, edge shell to form a straight edge on each side.

Repeat rows 2-3 for the length of the pattern stitch.
